MEET OUR FACULTY 

Angela Lederman - Owner/Company Director
Clogging | Jazz | Tap | Ballet

Angela began her dance training at the age of three under the late Jimmie Ruth White at Spotlight Dance Studio. She continued to train there throughout her high school years and beyond. She is comprehensively trained in tap, jazz, ballet, and clogging. Angela was the Captain of her high school dance team. She was honored to be part of a select group of dancers to perform at the Worlds Faire in Brisbane, Australia. Angela continues her training by attending numerous master classes at various conventions every year. Her true passion is tap and clogging.

Angela has been teaching at A Step in Time since 2004. Her choreography has received overall awards at both the regional and national levels. Dancers under Angela’s direction have been awarded scholarships, and top honors at numerous dance conventions and competitions. Angela bought A Step in Time from Richard Walker in 2013 and is looking forward to the future. She is committed to sharing her passion for dance with her students!

Angela is married to Mark Lederman and has two wonderful daughters, Hannah (17) and Julia (13). Both girls are dancers at A Step in Time.

 

Bethany Faulkner
Ballet | Jazz | Lyrical | Tap

Ms. Bethany has spent time in L.A. studying at the Edge, home of some of the best and most current teachers and choreographers in the industry. She brings with her the best of what is current and the tradition of A Step in Time, quality dance technique, respect for tradition, values, work ethic and enriching one's life through dance.

Bethany Cloutier began her training at the age of 3 at A Step in Time Dance Studio and continued to study under the direction of Richard and Roberta Walker. During her 15 years with the studio she also attended classes with Debbie Allen, Mia Michaels and Fernando Bujones along with attending Joel Ruminer Summer Dance Camps and performing at such venues as Dance for the Planet, The Fielder Road Christmas Show, Mountain View College Galas, competitions and conventions.

Her training then continued with a scholarship to Oklahoma City University's School of Dance and Arts Management with instruction from Jo Rowan, Lyn Cramer, Liz Reiter, Kay Sandel, Nikki Singer and Mark Yonelly. While attending she was involved with the OCU Pep Dancers, Liturgical Dance Company, Student Choreography Show and American Spirit Dance Company. She then migrated back to Texas and began performing with Five Degrees of Dance Company and instructing classes at The Studio in Howe, Texas. Next was the position of competition team leader, choreographer and teacher for Frisco Dance Force. Bethany earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and enjoys working in elder care services.

Ms. Bethany is an award winning choreographer and happy to be sharing the joy of dance with her students.

 

Jamie Perrin
Jazz | Lyrical

Jamie is an award winning teacher that has been described as a "powerhourse" and continually strives to inspire her students.  She has her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in dance and has been in the dance industry for 35 years.  Her professional credits include Celebrity Cruise Lines, Superbowl XXXVIII, The Miss Texas Pageant-Dance Captain, Six Flags and House of Blues.  For 8 years she served as the director of the dance program at Tarrant County College-Southeast campus and was also the Artistic Director of the Rhapsody Movement Comany.  She was the recipient of the Chancellor's Exemplary Teaching Award for the 2013-2014 school year.  In 2015 her family relocated to Vancover, Canada where she taught at a local studio.  Jamie, her husband, and their son James, are very excited to be back in Mansfield and she is looking forward to a fantastic year a A Step in Time!

 

Michael Stone
Company Ballet

Michael Stone began his training at age 14 in Lewisville, TX, and quickly found a passion for ballet and contemporary work.  Michael recently graduated with Bachelor's on scholarship at Southern Methodist University.  He has had the opportunity to train under several master teachers such as John Gardner, Amanda McKerrow, Helen Starr, Alun Jones, Thom Clower, David Howard, Ethan Stiefel, Dylan Crossman, Daniel Ulbricht and Gillian Murphy as well as with Jim Cooper, Joshua L. Peugh, Adam Hougland, Danny Buraczecki, Myra Woodruff and many more.  He has had the opportunity to perform classial works like Giselle and A Midsummer's Night Dream as well as modern works such as Shapiro and Smith's To Have and To Hold and Paul Taylor's Mercuric Tidings.  Through SMU, Michael was fortunate to travel to New York City to perform in the 70th Anniversary Jose Limon International Dance Festival as a soloist in the classic work There is a Time.  He is also an Artist in Residence with North Central Ballet Theatre, Festival Ballet Theater and Collin County Ballet Theatre.  Michael as begun teaching and choreographing his own works and looks forward to giving back to the next generation of dance.
